Robert's Paintings

Robert Taliaferro is a Black artist who originally hails from the East Coast.  His early work was predominantly soft pastels and in the last decade, he has worked exclusively in oils, watercolors, and acrylics.  From time to time, he executes studies in oil pastels or simple (yet detailed) mixed media sketches.  His work has been exhibited extensively and is in a number of private collections.  Among those exhibits, his work has been shown at the following:

The Alpert Gallery, Boston

Brandeis University , Boston

The John Hancock Building

Ibis Galleries, Los Angeles

Art League of Houston

ABC No Rio, New York

Northern Westchester Center for the Arts, New York

Puffin, New York

Atlanta Black Arts Festival

Robert prefers to paint on primed watercolor paper rather than traditional canvas, and prefers handmade papers, and papers that are deckled.  He often includes those rough edges into the theme of a particular painting.
