Robert Taliaferro is a Black artist who originally hails from the East Coast. His early work was predominantly soft pastels and in the last decade, he has worked exclusively in oils, watercolors, and acrylics. From time to time, he executes studies in oil pastels or simple (yet detailed) mixed media sketches. His work has been exhibited extensively and is in a number of private collections. Robert prefers to paint on primed watercolor paper rather than traditional canvas, and prefers handmade papers, and papers that are deckled. He often includes those rough edges into the theme of a particular painting.
